The purpose of this role is to lead a strategic finance business partnering role to the STARK UK central functions including IT, Property, Marketing, HR, Supply Chain, Finance, and Legal.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Decision Support: Generate insightful reporting and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and ultimately support the profitable growth of the business.
2. Business Partnering: Contribute to the achievement of the business objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy; focusing on identifying and driving efficiencies and ensuring they improve the bottom line.
3. Strategic Finance Leadership: Support the implementation, delivery, and ongoing tracking of key strategic initiatives.
4. Performance Management and Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to identify and address discrepancies between planned and actual financial performance.
5. Financial Planning and Analysis: Manage the financial planning process and own the production of the budget and re-forecasts for the relevant functional cost bases.
6. Performance evaluations: Delivering robust trial and test performance evaluations utilizing financial analysis coupled with non-financial measures to provide clear conclusions and recommendations.
7. Commercial support and business case creation: e.g. multi-million-pound new customer propositions.
8. Risk and Opportunity Management: Identifying potential risks and opportunities, offering solutions to mitigate/capitalise on these.
9. P&L Stewardship: Manage the “Centre” P&L, working closely with the Management Accounts team to understand the total gross cost base, and govern the way it is recharged to the brands to ensure all costs are understood and owned.
10. Reporting: Create a robust process for cost centre reporting by function/Exec Member, generating actionable insights.
11. Leadership: Mentoring and coaching junior members of the team to promote their development & collaboration across departments to deliver our strategic goals.
What you’ll need to have:
1. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification
2. Proven track record of driving cost-efficiencies
3. Proficient in financial modeling, but able to summarise the big picture simply and clearly
4. Experience of working with Exec members and with cross-functional and matrix structured working environments
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
6. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively
7. A clear presenter of data, and confident dealing directly with Exec members
8. Commercial finance experience would be desirable
