Senior Buyer
Our client are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Buyer on a 6-month fixed-term contract to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will have technical senior buying experience within an engineering and manufacturing background, coupled with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong individual who can work autonomously, as well as collaboratively within a team. An essential aspect of this role is the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers. The candidate must also possess a deep understanding of the buying process and procurement, with excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities as Senior Buyer
- Conducting comprehensive market research to identify potential suppliers and maintain a thorough understanding of
market trends.
- Managing the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier
performance.
- Collaborating with internal teams to align purchasing activities with business needs and objectives.
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing strategies to improve purchasing efficiency.
- Maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Leading supplier quality and delivery improvement activities.
Qualifications as Senior Buyer
- Technical senior buying experience within an engineering and manufacturing background.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong relationship-building skills and a deep understanding of the buying process and procurement.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience purchasing a wide range of items, components, parts, and materials across a business.
- Ideally, hold a CIPS or relevant purchasing qualification.
