We are looking for a colleague with a passion for critical care and retrieval medicine to join our dynamic and innovative critical care team.
The post is for a full-time ICM consultant who will work both at Newham University Hospital and with Londons Adult Critical Care Emergency Support Service (ACCESS) based within Barts Health. We are seeking colleagues who share our values and vision to join our team of consultants to enable this to happen. You will need to be committed and keen, able to work collaboratively with diverse groups, and to be able to show leadership and integrity. You will be expected to take a role within the managerial structure of the department, and you will demonstrate a commitment to education, supporting the junior staff in their professional development. Above all else, you will be an excellent clinician who delivers great care to your patients.
Applications are invited from doctors with appropriate training and qualifications in critical care medicine as defined by the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine. Applicants must hold a CCT (or equivalent eg CESR) in ICM or be within 6 months of obtaining this at the time of interview.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide high-quality clinical care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
2. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
3. Provide leadership and support to junior medical staff and allied health professionals.
4. Participate in teaching and training activities for medical students, junior medical staff, and other healthcare professionals.
5. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance processes.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
7. Participate in the on-call rota for the Intensive Care Unit and ACCESS.
