Main duties of the job
The primary purpose of the postis to support the practice clinical team in the delivery of our phlebotomyservice. You will be working within the Nursing Team as a trained, caring, andprofessional phlebotomist.

Job description
Job responsibilities
Ensuring patient is comfortable, put at ease andgives consent.
Checking patient identification and confirmingwherever possible.
Follow safety guidelines, including the properuse of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to infection controlprotocols.
Performing venepuncture in accordance with practiceprocedures and protocols.
Label and store blood samples correctly andpreventing contamination.
Recording collection of blood samples in thepatient record in accordance with practice procedure.
Ensuring the samples are dispatched to theappropriate laboratories in a timely fashion. To assist in phlebotomy stock ordering andmaintaining adequate stocks of consumables and equipment in the work area, takedelivery of stores and identify shortages of any items.
