About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our team, working alongside the local authority to provide academic support to students in need. This role will involve working with children and young people, often in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, to help them achieve their academic potential and overcome any barriers to learning. As a Tutor, you will work closely with schools and the local authority. Key Responsibilities: Deliver tailored tutoring sessions to students in various subjects, both in person and potentially online. Collaborate with local authority teams to identify students who would benefit most from tutoring support. Assess students' academic needs and create personalized learning plans. Track and monitor students' progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and local authorities. Offer support and guidance to students, helping them build confidence and motivation in their studies. Ensure that all teaching materials and resources are appropriate, engaging, and in line with educational standards. Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and local authority representatives. Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, student progress, and outcomes. Essential Qualifications and Experience: A degree in education or a relevant subject. Previous tutoring or teaching experience, preferably with children and young people. Strong understanding of the UK curriculum and current educational practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. A DBS check and safeguarding training (or willingness to undergo these checks). Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students in their learning journey. Desirable Skills: Experience working in collaboration with local authorities or support services. Special educational needs (SEN) experience or relevant qualifications.
