Job summary Kingston and Richmond l NHS Foundation Trust is based in a beautiful and historic part of the country about 12 miles from the centre of London with good transport links into the capital. We have a 12-14 bedded Intensive care Unit caring for patients requiring level 2 and 3 support. You must be registered with the GMC. As a minimum, you will be required to have at least 2 years postgraduate training, or equivalent, in anaesthetic specialty training, or you must be able to demonstrate achievement of the necessary equivalent competencies. Previous experience of obstetric anaesthesia and ITU is desirable. You should also have current ALS provider status or equivalent certification. Co-ordinate investigations, specialty referrals and documentation Insertion of invasive lines Active involvement in M&M meetings, teaching and audit/QIP About us This post will include on-call responsibilities participating in a 1 in 8 full shift pattern that is compliant with the European Working Time Directive and includes prospective cover. You will cover Theatre, Obstetrics or ITU. The rota has 4 tiers, covering theatre, obstetrics and 2 for ITU (one of whom must have airway training).The post is based entirely at Kingston Hospital. Most surgical specialties are covered, except for neuro and cardiac surgery. We have 8 main theatres and 4 theatres in our Day Surgery Unit. ITU currently run to 16 beds. In addition, our maternity department is very busy with nearly 6000 deliveries annually and we have a strong reputation in providing excellent training in obstetric anaesthesia. There is ample opportunity to attend pre-op assessment clinics and acute pain rounds.
