Based in our state of the art Sterile Services Unit, your work will be varied, stimulating and will involve the cleaning, disinfection, inspection, packaging and sterilization of surgical instruments. By joining us you’ll be making a significant contribution to Patient Safety in both Private and NHS Hospitals. Nuffield Health is looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Sterile Services Technicians to join the Team in HSSU Cambridge. The purpose of these positions will be to assist in the preparation of sterile and/or disinfected medical devices, under controlled conditions, to meet customer requirements. It will be important to maintain a clean and tidy working environment whilst checking medical devices for cleanliness, functionality and damage, and taking action to rectify any problems and escalating issues where necessary. Successful candidates will ensure that process equipment and accessories are in full working order and that all faults and anomalies are reported. With good organisational skills, post holders will be required to maintain accurate records / documentation in accordance with statutory and organisational policies and procedures. Technicians are required to monitor stock issues as they arise and advise their line manager when goods need to be re-ordered. Evidence of previous sterile services training or knowledge of theatre instruments is an advantage but not essential – full training will be provided. Good communication skills, verbal and written, and basic computer literacy. Attention to detail and an overarching desire to deliver a high quality service.
