Overview:
We are working with a leading provider of Audio Visual (AV) solutions for both residential and commercial sectors in London. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated AV Field Service Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of AV systems at client sites. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in both residential and commercial environments, providing exceptional technical support and service to their valued clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repairs
* Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs of AV systems, ensuring equipment is functioning properly and is up to industry standards.
* Diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime for clients.
* Conduct regular inspections of AV equipment and systems, identifying potential issues and recommending preventive measures.
Client Support & Relationship Management
* Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with clients directly on-site, understanding their needs, and offering professional advice on how to use their AV systems effectively.
* Assist clients with technical questions and provide guidance on troubleshooting minor issues.
* Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and promoting ongoing service contracts.
Documentation & Reporting
* Maintain accurate records of all service work completed, including installation details, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
* Complete service reports and ensure all paperwork is filed correctly for future reference and compliance.
* Ensure that all work is documented in accordance with company procedures and industry regulations.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
* Proven experience as an AV Field Service Engineer, Technician, or a similar role in the AV, IT, or electronics industries.
* Strong technical knowledge of AV equipment, including audio systems, video conferencing setups, control systems, projectors, displays, and home automation.
* Experience with troubleshooting, fault-finding, and repairing AV equipment.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
* Valid UK driving license and the ability to travel to client sites within London and surrounding areas.
* Basic understanding of networking and AV signal distribution (e.g., HDMI, IP, HDBaseT, AVoIP).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable:
* Experience with residential automation systems (e.g., Control4, Crestron, Savant).
* Knowledge of industry certifications and compliance standards (e.g., AVIXA, CEDIA).
* Experience in a customer-facing role, providing on-site support and troubleshooting.
* Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
* Experience with system integration and networked AV solutions.
