The pharmacy technician will be an integral part of the general practice team, working within their professional boundaries in each practice within the Primary Care Network (PCN).
This role will work under the supervision of the PCN Clinical pharmacist(s) and alongside our existing team of technicians.
The candidate will provide technical support to the clinical pharmacists, practice GPs, nurses, HCAs, and reception/administrative staff, and support the PCN and practices clinical teams with queries around medication from patients and medicine reconciliation following discharge from other care providers.
The pharmacy technician will complete audits around patient safety in the prescribing of medication and present the information for sharing with the clinical team.
The GP practices within our PCN recognize that pharmacy technicians play an important role, complementing our existing clinical pharmacist team and other healthcare professionals of PCN North's multi-disciplinary team. Pharmacy technicians' core role responsibilities will cover clinical, technical and administrative categories and will undoubtedly enable greater effective and efficient use of medicines, promoting the safe and effective use of medicines in prescribing decisions to benefit our patients.

About us
Wakefield Health Alliance South PCN is looking to recruit an additional Clinical Pharmacy Technician to join our existing pharmacy team. The team have built excellent working relationships amongst themselves and the practices within our PCN. We are able to provide strong pharmacy leadership with regular training; listening and responding to the needs of the team and supporting them to develop within their roles.
We consist of six GP practices on the Southern side of Wakefield District. Our practices are College Lane Surgery, White Rose Surgery, Langthwaite Surgery, Park Green, The Grange and Rycroft medical practice.
You will be part of our growing multi-disciplinary additional roles team, who all work together to support our GP practices and their patients. The roles currently include care coordinators, clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, Health and wellbeing coaches, First Contact Physiotherapist, Social Prescribing Link Worker, Mental health practitioner, Occupational Therapist and nursing staff.
Our PCN is committed to improving the care provided to our patients, reducing health inequalities and raising the standards and quality of our general practices.
You will be employed by Conexus Healthcare CIC which is the Confederation for General Practice in Wakefield but working for the PCN.

Personal Qualities
* Flexibility to work outside of core office hours
* Holds a full driving license and access to a vehicle to drive around the PCN
Experience
* Experience as working as a pharmacy technician
* Experience of working with the general public
* Experience of medicines management or dispensing role in the community or within a hospital setting
* Experience of working within a general practice or PCN
* Knowledge of General Practice repeat prescribing systems
* Experience with Systm One
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or Equivalent
* Registration with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above)
