Job Description:
THIS POST HAS AN ANNUAL PAY AWARD PENDING
At The Old Lodge, near the village of Kippen, we specialise in providing tailored support to children and young people who are vulnerable and at risk. With dedicated staff and a warm, nurturing environment, we create personalised care plans focused on building positive relationships, maintaining education, and opening up new opportunities. We work closely with families and local authorities to ensure each young person receives comprehensive support.
We’re looking for a compassionate and committed Support Practitioner to join our small team. In this role, you’ll work closely with children and young people to meet their care and emotional needs, build trust through positive relationships, and support them in developing practical life skills. You’ll contribute to assessments and care planning, promote wellbeing, and participate in daily routines, activities, and community life.
You need to be registered (or eligible to register) with the SSSC, and either hold or be willing to work towards an HNC in Social Care and SVQ Level 3. A full driving licence is essential. Experience in residential childcare or education is preferred, along with an understanding of trauma-informed practice and attachment theory. We seek someone who is reflective, calm under pressure, and a positive, steady influence in a young person’s life.
If you believe in care, compassion, and consistency — and want to make a lasting difference — we’d love to hear from you.
We offer a range of benefits, including retail and leisure discounts, a contributory pension plan, death in service benefit, family-friendly policies, health cash plans, and a care concierge service.
We support your professional development, including contributions to membership fees and opportunities to learn and grow.
CrossReach has a long history of high-quality social care, pioneering services that have changed lives. As part of the Church of Scotland, we provide services in Christ’s name to those in challenging circumstances.
This role requires you to have a Christian faith and work within our Christian Ethos, which is an Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010. You must be a member of the PVG Scheme and registered with the SSSC, ensuring you meet all standards and criteria.
We are committed to diversity and inclusion, valuing each individual’s background and abilities, and fostering an environment where everyone can belong, thrive, and be their best.
