Legal Services are seeking a Property Team Leader to join our friendly, supportive and dynamic Legal team supporting Stratford on Avon and Warwick District Councils.
We are seeking enthusiastic, adaptable and self-motivated lawyers for this role, following the retirement and promotion of the previous postholders. For the Property Team Leader role, you will have experience in commercial property work, including land assembly for regeneration, development or project purposes, as well as an awareness of the wider issues, such as best value and subsidy control.
You will work in a supportive environment having your own varied caseload of complex legal work advising senior officers and councillors on high profile cases across both local authorities. The Team Leader will be an integral part of the Legal Team working with the Legal Services Manager and the Team Leader (Commercial) to shape the direction of the Legal Team. You will also lead and motivate an excellent team of lawyers.
It is an exciting time to join an expanding, progressive Legal Team that is friendly and supportive with a strong team ethic. We support two ambitious local authorities involved in a range of exciting projects. You will be directly involved in varied and high-quality legal work and make a positive difference to our communities.
Local government experience and management experience is desirable but not essential provided you have an interest and commitment to local government work and to managing and developing teams. We will accept applications from qualified solicitors, barristers and fellows of the Institute of Legal Executives.
We are based in the centre of historic and vibrant Stratford upon Avon and we offer flexible, agile working arrangements including home working.
For an informal chat about the role please contact Sue Mullins (Legal Services Manager) on 01789 260975 or sue.mullins@stratford-dc.gov.uk.
