Job Description: HPE's Legal Department applies legal knowledge to complex business transactions. Our mission is to contribute to HPE's success by providing proactive, practical and timely legal advice and contractual support to enable our clients to achieve profitable growth and customer satisfaction. An integral part of HPE, Legal works in areas such as Intellectual Property, Mergers and Acquisitions, Ethics, Antitrust, Commercial Law and Litigation to name but a few. Job Description: The suitable candidate will be an experienced Commercial Lawyer who can negotiate and execute key customer transactions for our expanding IT infrastructure and services business in the UK & Ireland (noting that UK&I is part of HPE’s UKIMEA Geography which includes countries in the Middle East and South Africa). This role will focus on supporting our UK&I Sales Organisation and all of our Business Unit’s across the UK&I (which includes our Compute, HPC & AI, Networking & Hybrid Cloud Services business units) on their most complex and important customer contracts, providing a high quality and efficient service to the business. The ideal candidate will have excellent commercial legal skills, be a strong communicator, a team player and thrive in a fast-paced environment which focuses on innovation, execution and customers. The candidate will also be able to cover ad-hoc legal queries and provide succinct advice to the business on contractual disputes as well as be able to deal with a variety of legal issues on corporate transactions, regulatory matters and IT and technology matters. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team environment and will support colleagues on challenging legal transactions and will share knowledge and invest in the HPE business and our legal team. About you: Advanced University Degree in law (e.g. JD or LLB) Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in law Experience and training with a top tier firm Fluent in spoken and written English Experience in commercial Law requirements Willingness to travel: role can be based in either Winnersh or London l but willingness to travel to other location where required Knowledge and Skills: Mastery of legal and relevant business knowledge in multiple practices areas. Recognized subject matter expert in a key practice area. Broad and deep knowledge of company policies, procedures, and practices. Developed awareness of how to operate successfully in multiple international legal environments. Mastery in negotiating or advising senior representatives of external and internal organizations on complex and high value/risk matters. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills. The Team: Our Geography Legal team sits across HPE’s UKIMEA Geography and is made up of 6 Lawyers in total (4 of which, including this role, are based in the UK at either our offices in London or Winnersh).
