Transport Supervisor
40 hours, 4 on 4 off shift pattern (12 hour shift with varying start times).
Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum *Dependent on level of experience.
We're growing at Wincanton, along with our customer IKEA. Join us as Transport Supervisor in our brand new, state-of-the-art depot in Dartford. As Transport Supervisor, you will assist with the smooth running of our busy transport operation, through safe practices, optimisation, and day-to-day operational activity.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the smooth running of our busy transport operation by effective management, optimisation, and quality processes.
2. Manage on-road issues and the delivery failure process, liaising with customers and finding solutions.
3. Engage in leadership through pre-shift/de-briefings, training, and coaching of drivers/porters (including transportation safety and compliance).
4. Allocate fleet and crews for home delivery to correct routes, planning and optimising the fleet.
5. Manage performance to a high standard along with compliance to all legal requirements, ensuring high standards are met in line with Wincanton and our customers' quality processes.
6. Manage drivers' hours ensuring records are accurate in readiness for audits and compliance.
7. Undertake investigations where necessary for any incidents including missing items.
8. Ensure Safe Systems of Work processes are followed in line with site Health and Safety regulations.
What will you bring to our team?
1. Passion to deliver in a fast-paced transport operation, with previous transport experience in a supervisory role.
2. Experience in using transport management systems and savvy with IT including MS packages.
3. Proven knowledge of driver/transport legislation and a commitment to delivering compliance.
4. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work on your initiative as well as engage with the team.
