The Role
The role has the responsibility to manage the network management team with particular attention to traffic regulation orders & temporary traffic regulation orders and manage events which affect the highway and project manage minor road safety projects. The role also requires the candidate to have accountability for the management of the road safety team in delivering the School Crossing patrol service and delivering road safety in schools.
You will need to liaise with MP’s, Local Councillors, Stakeholders and local Residents and represent the team at local and national level.
You will support the Network Manager and deputise as necessary, with specific responsibility for Network Management. You will be a member of the Network Management team and be expected to be accountable and provide leadership, direction and operational management support to the Network Management Section in achieving its delivery objectives.
This is achieved through the delivery of process and procedures to manage the organisations response to parking matters, road safety concerns, planned and unplanned activities and event management.
About You
You will be a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with experience in carrying out the Network Management duties. You will be a good communicator and have a passion for innovative thinking with a close attention to detail.
You will be an experienced professional in the field of highways and transportation. You will need to bring a clear understanding of these issues and the wider transport environment to the role as well as a strong ability to deliver diverse transportation and greenspace capital projects for the council to deliver real change for the travelling public.
