Waking Night Carer Location: Purpose-Built Care Home in Moseley (B13) Position: Full-time Waking Night Carer Hours: Minimum of 33 hours per week (3 x 11-hour night shifts, 8pm - 8am, 1-hour unpaid break) Pay: £12.21 per hour Eligibility: Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year’s experience in care. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Waking Night Carer to join our team in a purpose-built Care Home that provides 24-hour nursing care to 36 adults aged 30 and over with long-term care needs related to enduring functional mental illness. As a Waking Night Carer, you will play a key role in supporting our residents overnight, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being during the night hours. This is a rewarding role where you’ll be able to develop strong relationships with residents, offering both personal and emotional support in a peaceful and structured environment. Responsibilities: Providing person-centred care to residents with enduring functional mental health needs. Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents throughout the night. Assisting with personal care needs, including toileting, dressing, and mobility. Monitoring residents' conditions, reporting any changes to senior staff. Promoting a supportive and positive environment for residents, respecting their dignity and choices. Administering medications as required, in accordance with care plans. Maintaining accurate records in line with the company’s policies and procedures. What we’re looking for: A minimum of 1 year’s experience working in a care setting, preferably with adults with mental health needs. A caring and patient approach, with the ability to work independently during night shifts. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Flexibility and reliability to ensure continuity of care. A willingness to undertake training and development to further enhance your skills. What we offer: A competitive hourly rate of £12.21.
