Head of Grid
Reading based office, hybrid role
Pan-European Independent Power Provider
Up to £80,000 DOE
A pan European Independent power provider is looking for their first formal appointment into their grid team, and you could be managing an existing portfolio of projects as well as gaining new connection agreements.
The group has been on a mission for the last 15 years to provide clean energy to the world through affordable and reliable solutions. Safe to say, they have been successful on this mission with over 300MW of assets being managed and in operational stages. On top of this, they have an additional 3GW of assets in various development stages. The team is aiming to only continue developing this portfolio, and so your role will be to ensure these connections are achieved as well as making sure this portfolio is developed further.
In this time, they have also grown to work across different countries and technologies. This includes both solar and energy storage, as well as co-located sites. They also work across the UK & Italy. This means the group has an additional layer of certainty with revenues coming from multiple territories as well as technologies. Moreover, as they are an IPP, they generate revenue through their business model in additional avenues. They develop sites and sell these at a shovel ready state, as well as owning and operating these sites to generate energy and sell this. Finally, they provide operation and maintenance services to other solar sites too.

This role is brand new to the team, previously being completed by a senior member to the team. Due to their portfolio growing, they have decided to create a brand new roe for this skillset. You'll be able to develop this role how you choose, but the focus will be:
* Optimising and managing the existing connection portfolio.
* Monitoring grid reforms, and staying up to date with relevant changes. Explaining and relating these changes to the rest of the development and engineering teams.
* Submitting and managing grid applications (G99).
* Evaluating and analysing grid offers, as well as negotiating with DNO & TSO for these offers.
* Working closely with ICPs and subcontractors for the construction of projects.
