Maintenance Operative
Newcastle
Salary: £24,000 - £25,500 per annum, plus 20% discretionary bonus (OTE £28,800 - £30,600)
Hours: 9am - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday

They are now recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Operative to join their team to manage repairs and maintenance across their portfolio of student houses in Newcastle.
Key responsibilities
* Provide high standard repairs, maintenance and decorating across a portfolio of high-quality student houses.
* Interact daily with student customers.
* Complete planned and reactive maintenance works within the property budget.
* Undertake periodic health & safety checks and property inspections.
* Carry out statutory compliance inspections if required.
* Maintain the security and general appearance of properties and gardens.
* Manage maintenance and third-party contractor works to a high standard.
* Manage energy and utility including meter reading and broadband service management.
* Assist with ad-hoc jobs such as delivering keys and assisting tenants that are locked out.
* Perform basic seasonal garden maintenance.
Experience and Skills
* Experience in repairs and planned maintenance in student/HMO housing or similar.
* Experience in internal and external painting.
* Some experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and decoration desirable.
* Experience in health & safety and statutory compliance testing.
* Broadband & TV issue diagnosis experience.
* Excellent communication & customer service skills; enjoys problem solving.
* Able to diagnose & complete cost-effective repairs in a fast-paced environment.
* Proactive, positive attitude; able to work on own initiative.
* Strong IT skills, including IOS on iPhone and iPad, and experience with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Strong organization and time management skills with good attention to detail.
Requirements
* Full UK driving license required.
* Satisfactory references.
* DBS check required.
