Our exclusive client manufactures complex bespoke special purpose machinery and are based close to Blackburn. One of the greatest selling points of this business is their brilliant staff retention levels – most of the people at the business have been there for over 10 years! Additionally, they are offering a 4 day week.
Due to a growing order book, and the development of new products, the company is seeking a Project Engineer to join their busy and growing service department.

Skills Required:
* Knowledge of working with bespoke automated process equipment (ideally web winding machinery)
* A background in either electrical, mechanical or mechatronics design.
* Some project engineering experience, preferably dealing with product enhancement and retrofits.
* Well organised with good attention to details.
* Experience of running design reviews with cross functional teams.
* Good communication skills.
* HNC/Degree or very good design engineering experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate the design engineering activities within the department to ensure service upgrades are designed and tested to meet the committed installation date.
* Be the single point of contact for the customer service team for all design engineering activities for progress updates and planned completion date.
* Work with the lead engineers to determine the design & testing tasks needed to complete each retrofit upgrade.
* Track the progress of the design and testing tasks and escalate tasks to ensure compliance with contractual delivery schedule and provide weekly updates to the Senior Management Team
* Coordinate and record internal multi-disciplinary design reviews & risk assessment during the development of the service upgrade.
* Work with the service team to develop standard retrofit kits that can be resold to multiple customers.
* Help drive solutions for data collection on our customers’ machines to facilitate machine monitoring and early warning services as well as machine learning.
* Ensure that all the required compliance information has been recorded by the engineering team.
* Assist in obtaining quotes, datasheets and compliance information from 3rd party equipment suppliers.
* Facilitate liaison between customer service, engineering, production and assembly.
* Liaise with customers and suppliers to gather the information needed to complete the design.
* Where practical, perform design duties to support the wider design engineering team.
* Provide support to the assembly and test team with any prebuild and testing to ensure issues are resolved quickly by coordinating the response with the relevant people from the engineering team.
* Facilitate customer support, as required.
* Adhere to the companies Health & Safety policy.
