A leading provider of machine tools and engineering solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join their team.
The Role:
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and repair of machine tools at customer sites across the UK. This will include diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control system faults, ensuring that equipment operates efficiently and meets customer expectations. The role may involve regular travel and overnight stays as required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Install, commission, and repair machine tools (both CNC and manual) at customer sites.
2. Perform scheduled maintenance and preventative service checks.
3. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
4. Provide technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring proper use and maintenance of equipment.
5. Prepare and maintain service documentation and reports.
6. Manage customer relationships, ensuring high levels of service and support.
Person Specification:
1. Apprentice-trained with a strong engineering background, ideally in machine tools.
2. Proven experience working with CNC machines or manual machine tools.
3. Sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
4. Proficient in fault-finding and problem-solving.
5. Ability to work independently, managing time and workloads effectively.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with customers in a professional manner.
7. Willingness to travel extensively and stay overnight when required.
8. Full UK driving licence.
