EIP Suffolk (Early Intervention in Psychosis) is currently able to offer an exciting opportunity to join our highly skilled and experienced team delivering bespoke and timely interventions to our service users, aged 14 - 65 years, and their families.
We are looking to recruit a part-time Cogitative Behavioural Therapist who has an excellent working knowledge and experience of assessment, formulation and delivery of structured psychological interventions within a mental health setting. You will ideally have prior experience of working with psychosis or a willingness to complete further training in working with psychosis would be essential. You will have a keen and driven interest in improving outcomes for individuals experiencing psychosis directed through your own knowledge base in Early Intervention.
Main duties of the job
As a CBT therapist you would be joining our existing countywide specialist psychology team offering structured therapeutic programmes in line with service user need and as part of a whole multi-disciplinary team care plan governed through CPA process.
Your work would generally be completed on a 1:1 basis although therapeutic groupwork may be offered as appropriate across the service.
You will lead / contribute alongside your psychology colleagues to our staff clinical supervision schedule.
You will be committed to ongoing service and clinical development inclusive of service user / carer involvement which will be paramount to ensure the effective implementation and sustained delivery of early intervention service protocols in line with National Clinical Institute of Excellence Quality Standards for EIP.
In addition, traditionally the EIP National Community ethos has been to actively engage and work collaboratively towards research, innovation aimed at continuously improving overall outcomes for individuals and their families experiencing / at risk of psychosis.
You will be encouraged and supported to engage / contribute to relevant projects both across the Trust, Regionally and Nationally.
You will be working alongside a dedicated group of professionals who hold the service user, family, Carers and Social Recovery at the center of all that we deliver.

Job responsibilities
EIP Suffolk offers regular clinical and management supervision with an emphasis on reflective practice both as 1:1 and group sessions. We hold a strong belief in team and individual development. We will offer you a full EIP induction program and have extensive training and career development that can be accessed across our Trust.
NSFT have developed a robust clinical supervision model delivered by Lead Clinical Psychologists, an EIP community psychology forum monthly, and access to Trust wide networking and training opportunities.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Professional qualification and registration in a recognised mental health profession
* BABCP accreditation (or working towards) as a CBT/Therapist (may have been gained following successful completion of High Intensity Therapist Training).
Experience
* Theoretical knowledge of CBT/Therapies and the application of appropriate models of practice, according to client need.
* Highly specialist assessment skills in CBT/Therapies.
* Advanced knowledge of a range of CBT/Therapies evidence-based interventions used in the effective management of common mental health problems.
* Proven effectiveness in engaging family and carers in treatment programmes.
Skills
* Ability to expertly manage a complex caseload.
* Ability to make judgements involving highly complex facts or situations, ability to exercise judgement in identifying and assessing complicated events or problems.
* Ability to provide and receive highly complex and highly sensitive information using the highest level of interpersonal and communication skills in order to overcome hostile, antagonistic or highly emotive atmospheres.
* Advanced skills in assessment, formulation, engagement and interventions.
* Ability to be an effective team player with good communication and liaison skills.
* Working knowledge of health legislation and current practice in mental health, including risk assessment and management.
Knowledge
* Substantive knowledge base relating to EIP and working with psychosis inclusive of relevant NICE QS / guidance.
* Knowledge of psychosocial interventions.
* Knowledge of medication and the monitoring of its effects.
