Who we are Exactmer is a life science start-up dedicated to producing precision polymeric molecules with our patented Nanostar Sieving Technology. London-based, we are in a rapid phase of growth and are searching for a self-starting, dynamic, flexible and committed individual to join our team. We are currently seeking a skilled graduate chemist to join our Isolation and Purification team (I&P) and play a key role in the development of our innovative products. Responsibilities As an I&P Chemist at Exactmer, you will be directly involved in the design and operation of our downstream isolation and purification train. You will work in a collaborative fast paced environment, using state of the art laboratory techniques to purify complex therapeutic compounds. This role will involve optimising and troubleshooting a range of purification systems and your contribution will directly impact the development of Exactmer’s Nanostar Sieving Technology. Overall, you need to be flexible and ready to grow your skills and experience as the company grows and our technology evolves. Your key responsibilities at Exactmer will be: · Perform isolation, purification, and characterization of synthetic and biological polymers, including oligonucleotides, peptides, PEGs, and ADC linkers. · Develop and optimise purification processes including extraction, chromatography, and ultrafiltration. · Analyse and interpret data from analytical techniques such as LC-MS. · Collaborate closely with both R&D and Manufacturing teams to enable scale-up of our downstream train. · Adhere to Exactmer’s quality standards, best practices, and laboratory safety. · Excellent documentation of experimental procedures, results and conclusions. Skills/Experience · MSc, or BSc in Chemistry, or a related field. · Strong laboratory experience of isolation and purification of complex molecules. · Experience with process development in a laboratory or industrial setting. · A desire to learn fast and tackle many different aspects of creating a new technology and new products. · Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. · Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. · Strong problem-solving skills.
