WHAT WILL YOU DO?
This position will integrate into a mature team of geoscientists, engineers, technologists and technicians to provide support on projects in the hydrogeological field. You will be the project lead and technical reviewer for related projects and will be a mentor for junior staff on your team.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
• Responsibilities include project planning, scheduling, allocation of personnel and resources, budgeting, overall supervision of project personnel, and communication with clients.
• Prepare and review reports, maps, drawings, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.
• Develop and supervise field investigation programs including geologic drilling investigation, water level and water quality monitoring programs, hydraulic testing (slug and pumping tests).
• Develop and provide guidance for hydrogeological impact assessments, dewatering assessments, water balances, etc.
• Prepare/write hydrogeological assessments for various approvals, including Site Plan Approvals, Permit To Take Water and the Environmental Activity and Sector Registry.
• Directly responsible for the health and safety of any person working on an assignment under the supervision of the project manager.
• Directly accountable for revenue, costs and profitability on all project work assigned to the project manager.
• Willing to travel to project sites and meetings as required.
• Providing mentorship and training to junior Cambium personnel.
Job Requirements
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in consulting in Ontario.
• Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree.
• Professional designation (P.Geo. or P. Eng.).
• Comfort with client interaction, and building our business is a key requirement for this role.
• Experience managing project-related financial data.
• Familiarity with municipal and provincial environmental legislation and regulations.
• Attention to detail in all undertakings is essential.
• Superior organizational and communications skills are essential.
• Desire to succeed in a dynamic, progressive organization.
• Able to effectively present ideas and technical information clearly and concisely in oral and written form in English.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills that facilitate detailed planning, timely decision-making and efficient implementation.
• Proven ability to analyze data, write reports, provide quality control and assurance and present results to Clients.
• Strong computer skills including all Microsoft Office components; Working knowledge of Hydrogeological Software such as Aquifer Test or Aqtesolv would be an asset.
• Safety conscious and team oriented with the ability to coach, guide and mentor others.
• Possession of a valid Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
