This exciting opportunity will be perfectly suited to a confident Registered Veterinary Nurse who is passionate about operational excellence, enjoys problem solving and has excellent organisational and communication skills. This hybrid role, encompassing 50-75% Workflow Coordinator and 25-50% Surgery Nurse responsibilities, provides an attractive balance of logistical and clinical duties. Workflow Coordinator: Our Workflow Coordinator will be instrumental in the effective and efficient running of the clinical floor across all referral disciplines in the hospital, which will include Anaesthesia, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, and Orthopaedics & Soft Tissue Surgery. Reporting into the Clinical Nursing Manager, the Workflow Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the clinical floor runs effectively and efficiently by taking a central role in planning the day’s referral procedures, and leading the teams to complete their individual work flows as scheduled. Due to the dynamic nature of referral and emergency work, the workflows of each department will be subject to change, and this will require decisive action and the reallocation of resources. General responsibilities will include: Delivering optimal use of resources on the clinical floor and maximising the efficiency of surgeons, nurses, theatre and imaging modalities usage. Forward planning for routine cases and reallocation of resources in response to emergencies. Problem solving in a dynamic and fast paced multidisciplinary referral hospital. Support the nursing and theatre teams to ensure cases flow through preparation area efficiently and safely. Surgery Nurse: As part of our surgery team, you will move across our Soft Tissue, Orthopaedic & Neurology departments, providing high quality nursing care to a variety of cases in each of these disciplines. General responsibilities will include: Covering a variety of nursing duties across prep, theatre, wards and imaging. Prepping patients, equipment and patient stations prior to procedures. Monitoring patients who are undergoing diagnostic imaging, surgery, and/or rechecks. Placing arterial lines, central lines and administering nerve blocks to the patients under the supervision of an anaesthetist. Monitoring patient anaesthesia and sedations. Providing support to the surgery & neurology departments and being a point of contact to clients, including organising admits and discharges. We have a dedicated Imaging suite, which includes a 16-slice CT scanner, 1.5 Tesla MRI, fluoroscopy, separate radiography and ultrasound room. Working Pattern A full time position covers 40 hours per week, across a rolling 6 week rota. We offer a 4 day working week, which comprises shifts between 07:00-20:30 during the week, plus a 1 in 6 weekend rota (Saturday and Sunday).
