Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Sourcing Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Sourcing and the Sr. Director of Supply Chain with the following functions that include but are not limited to:
* A high-level Sourcing individual who can help with the needs of a growing distribution organization.
* Support the existing Sourcing Team with large sourcing/quoting opportunities for new and existing customers.
* Work with the Sourcing Team and the Sr. Director of Supply Chain to develop a best-in-class process for returning project opportunities efficiently to meet the customers’ expectations.
* Capacity to seamlessly transition from tactical and strategic projects, depending on the needs, day by day.
* Ability to assess product requirements, specifications, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM).
* Experience in identifying, negotiating, and managing relationships with both domestic and international suppliers on a project level scale.
* Ability to implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality or lead times.
* Proficiency in contract management, ensuring favorable terms, quality control measures, and adherence to timelines.
* Knowledge of inventory control and demand planning to ensure optimal stock levels without overstocking.
* Knowledge of global shipping regulations, customs processes, and transportation logistics.
* Commitment to identifying inefficiencies in the sourcing process and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS
This individual must possess a high level of emotional maturity and the ability to interact at all levels within the organization. Those levels include branch personnel, corporate personnel, management team, The Leadership Team, customers, and supply chain partners. Requirements include a 4-year college degree, accompanied by experience in distribution or industrial distribution markets. Those years of experience include the areas of sales, team leadership, personnel and project management. The outline of the skills include:
