SSEN Transmissions portfolio of projects is currently a £20bn+ investment programme, and to support this delivery we are seeking a Head of Internal Communications who will lead the development of strategy and future direction for the Internal Communications team, managing the Transmission Design Hub as well as being the key contact for the Transmission MD. This role is part of the Extended Leadership Team, reporting to the Director of Customers and Stakeholders. You will
* Set and deliver the overall Internal Communications strategy and plan for the Transmission business. This includes gathering and sharing internal and external Internal Communications best practice to drive Internal Communications improvement across Transmission.
* Have overall responsibility for the Transmission Design Hub producing internal communications materials through graphic, digital design and video and supporting external communications with these, while ensuring compliance with the Transmission Brand.
* Work with partners to improve existing and develop new Internal Communications channels including the Transmission Communications App and SharePoint site.
* Take overall responsibility for the creation and delivery of key engagement activities, including the Annual Safety Conference and All Employee Calls.
* Manage the relationship with Group Internal Communications, representing Transmission at Group level.
In-depth experience in leading a high performing communications team in a large complex organisation.
* Considerable demonstrable experience in writing, editing, and publishing digital communications, able to transform complex and technical language into digestible and engaging content for colleagues and the Senior Leadership Team.
* A thirst to research and to continually update your knowledge of new and emerging platforms and channels for enhancing our employee communication and engagement approach.
* A natural ability to build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, to collaborate effectively and harness ideas from within and across organisational boundaries to achieve mutually successful outcomes.
