Hours: Standard hours are 8am-4.30pm, Monday to Thursday, 8am-3.30pm Fridays
Within VIVO we are currently recruiting for an M&E Engineer for Catterick Garrison, who will have responsibility for supporting the effective and timely delivery of Additional Works, planned and response maintenance, reducing the number of corrective actions raised and closing existing corrective actions within agreed timescales.
Reporting into the Managing Authorised Person you will be required to assess the competence of Skilled Persons to ensure suitably qualified and experienced operatives are directed to relevant tasks and review experience and performance regularly, produce high quality Risk Assessments and Method Statements and, where required, issue safety programmes and Permits to Work and carry out Plant Room Inspections.
As part of your role you will provide professional and technical support and advice to the VIVO operations site team, Supply Chain, DIO and end users, recording all tasks against the appropriate assets in the CAFM system (Maximo) and ensure all documentation relating to jobs is completed, recorded and distributed in a timely manner. You will also plan, direct and control activities including supervising site operations and managing sub-contractors in the appropriate disciplines.
The M&E Engineer will also manage cost and stakeholder expectations through excellent communication and sound commercial decisions to ensure value for money, work with all stakeholders to support the management and mitigation of contract risk, contribute to the delivery of and the production maintenance schedules IAW SFG20, Forward Additional Services Plans and Statements of Need across the sites.
You will be working on a variety of buildings and projects, including, but not limited to, maintenance, pre-construction and construction for accommodation, office buildings, gymnasiums, training blocks and food facilities. There are 14 barracks within Catterick Garrison so the role will be varied and you will be customer facing.
There are 5 other Engineers that you will be working alongside to ensure the smooth facilitation of all works.
What you’ll need to do this role
First and foremost, you should be a qualified and experienced engineer within an electrical, mechanical or gas discipline, with good supervisory skills.
You should have practical experience of Safe Systems of Work including Management of the Operational Delivery of JSP375 to operate across multiple sites on your own incentive with lite touch line management.
You will be someone with the ability work on your own initiative to solve problems and make decisions.
This role will involve performing overtime when required to support the business and partake in area ‘out of hours on call’.
It is desirable that you have experience of operating within an MOD environment but this is not essential.
You must be able to pass SC Clearance and hold a full UK driving licence to be considered for this role.
