3-6 month interim finance contract role
* Bristol-based client, preference on 1 day per week on site/ in the Bristol office.
* Requires full/valid &-in-date SC clearance as we don't have time to process a new application, so please only apply for this role if you have a valid SC clearance from your most recent role/ assignment.
* Our client is looking for a Finance Business Partner to support the business partnering and management accounts function, to work closely with the Corporate Service directorate and, in particular, Digital Services.
* Required start date: January 2025 - initially for 3 months (likely to be 6 months at least).
* Paying between £470-£550 a day via Umbrella or PAYE (inside IR35 role).
* Managing two Management Accountants.
* Getting involved with preparation for the interim audit and year-end audit.
* There is also a potential to get involved with the wider programme of work as they migrate to SAP4Hana in April 2025.
* They are also working on a business wide spending review and aligning this with the budget-setting process for 25/26.
Key deliverables:
* Be able to embed quickly into the corporate services directorate as a finance business partner, meeting stakeholders, particularly in the digital area.
* Understand what the business drivers are and collaborate on setting budgets for 25/26 and assist in both Interim and Year end Audits.
* Prepare monthly reports, provide analysis and insight that links financial reports to business strategies.
Key requirements to apply:
* Full professional qualification in accountancy UK CCAB or CIMA with current membership of a professional body.
* Experience of effective relationships and stakeholder management skills with the ability to persuade, influence and motivate others to engage actively in good financial management.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to describe complex technical issues in a clear non-technical way, including through report writing and presentation skills.
* Experience of budget setting in a time-pressured environment using a variety of tools and knowledge and business intelligence.
* Sound problem-solving skills.
* Robust analytical and interpretative skills.
* The ability to quickly assimilate and apply new techniques and knowledge.
