Our education team provides structured support to all staff and our development programmes are well established, including courses affiliated to LSBU and KCL. It would be an advantage to have previous radiology, theatre scrub or recovery experience, but is not essential. The role includes scrub and circulating procedures in the interventional room and support of other areas in the department including the recovery area. As part of your ongoing development there would be the opportunity to rotate to other radiology departments such as Neuro radiology and Nuclear Medicine. The department takes into consideration flexible working patterns in line with the Trust's policy. Main duties of the job The Interventional Radiology department runs a day time service from Monday to Friday with varying shift patterns. With training, the post holder will also be expected to provide cover for our 24 hour on call service, including weekends and bank holidays. With further training the role would lead to involvement in the administration of intravenous conscious sedation, requiring advanced monitoring of patients during procedures. You would also be involved in the care and management of patients having ultrasound guided procedures, for both inpatient and day cases. In CT, patients have CT guided Microwave Ablation and Nanoknife procedures, which involves working with the anaesthetic team.
