Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 7,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. The Defence School of Logistics and Administration (DSLA), one of three schools in the Defence College of Support (DCSp) delivers training to all Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force service personnel in Supply, Distribution, Catering, and Personnel Administration. We are predominantly based at Worthy Down - a newly built, modern campus in Winchester. This role sits within the Logistics Supply Training Wing (LSTW), providing a variety of Logistics based training to Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force personnel. We are seeking a Military Postal Services Instructor to sit within the Defence Petroleum and Specialist Training Squadron (DPSTS) of LSTW. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. The Military Postal Services Instructor position at DSLA offers an exciting opportunity to work in a customer facing training role. You will be responsible for providing efficient instruction, preparing lessons and carrying out assessments on all postal service courses, and we can provide the successful candidate with Defence Trainer specific training. We are seeking applicants who have initiative and are able to work proactively on their own. Due to the variety of ranks of Service Personnel and grades of Civil Servants, applicants will need to be effective communicators and confident to develop trusting relationships with a variety of students and stakeholders. Managing priorities will also be key in this ever-changing and fast paced environment. Specific tasks the Military Postal Service Instructor is required to deliver: Instruction on all Postal Courier courses Development of lesson plans and instructional material for all Postal Courier courses Making course content amendments to ensure that courses are up to date, appropriate and compliant Assisting in the preparation of examination papers and marking guides, and maintaining exam question banks Invigilating during exams and marking test papers Preparing Course Reports Maintaining Course Training Folders Preparation of course programmes Planning, administration & execution of field exercise Travel to Cyprus (up to 14 days) to deliver course Exercises Person specification The successful candidate will be a competent communicator who is comfortable delivering complex information to trainees from a diverse range of backgrounds and nationalities. The successful applicant must be able to keep up to date with changing policies and operational commitments that necessitate change in courses. All courses are constantly evolving utilising modern technologies so the applicant must possess a positive interest in effective change. The applicant will work closely with both military and civilian colleagues, and all should share a common goal to deliver quality training.
