The Associate Upper GI cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist will assist in providing a supportive cancer nursing service within the hospital. You will work with the Upper GI Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist to ensure optimal care, which will extend to the patients, carers and their families. Main duties of the job To provide information and support to all suspected cancer patients within this specialty and ensure continuity of care through diagnosis and treatment. To provide specialist advice and act as an an educational resource To participate in the continuing education of the multi-professional health care team in all aspects of Upper GI cancer To facilitate innovative and evidence-based nursing practice through professional leadership and supporting the clinical team To participate in clinical audit undertaken in relation to Upper GI cancer and the on-going service development with the support and supervision of the Upper GI cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist.
