Job Title : IT Support Engineer (1st/2nd Line Support) Location : Essex (fully onsite) Salary : Up to £35,000 per annum (DOE) My client is a well-established and reputable solicitors firm in Essex, providing expert legal services across a range of sectors. They are currently seeking an IT Support Engineer to join their team, offering 1st and 2nd line technical support to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day IT operations. Key Responsibilities : Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to staff across all departments. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues (desktops, laptops, printers, etc.). Maintain and support Microsoft Office 365, Windows 10/11, and other legal-specific applications. Set up and configure new hardware and software for users. Assist with network connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN). Support security protocols, including antivirus updates and ensuring systems meet data protection standards (GDPR compliance). Assist in managing user accounts (Active Directory) and email accounts. Provide remote and on-site support as needed. Document issues, solutions, and procedures effectively. Liaise with third-party vendors and escalate issues where necessary. Skills & Experience : Proven experience in a 1st/2nd line IT support role. Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Office 365, Active Directory, and remote support tools. Familiarity with troubleshooting network issues (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP). Excellent communication and customer service skills. Experience working within a professional services or legal environment (desirable). Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and work effectively under pressure. Knowledge of legal case management systems is a bonus. Qualifications : Relevant IT qualifications (CompTIA A, Microsoft certifications, etc.) are desirable but not essential with sufficient hands-on experience.
