We are recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a permanent position for an established Civil Engineering Contractor based in Inverness.
The successful candidate would be primarily office-based but conducting regular visits to sites would be required.
Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Supporting the operational team by offering sound commercial advice on projects.
2. Assisting with commercial training to both commercial and operational teams.
3. Reviewing, interpreting, negotiating, executing, and implementing Contracts and Subcontracts.
4. Conducting commercial analysis, reconciliation, and reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.
5. Managing projects to maximise opportunities and minimise risk.
6. Assisting with the development of the Commercial department.
7. Valuing project works in line with the contract terms and conditions.
8. Reviewing/validating tender cost plans and take-offs.
9. Assisting in material procurement and specification compliance.
10. Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
11. Travelling from the office to various sites as required.
12. Analysing subcontractor quotes, placing orders, and evaluating through the project.
Preferred Experience:
1. Minimum HND in Quantity Surveying, engineering, management, or similar.
2. 5+ years of Civil Engineering experience.
3. Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
4. A valid driver's license.
A salary of up to £70,000 is on offer with an annual company bonus, £8000/year car allowance, and company pension scheme.
