TLC Resourcing are working exclusively with a well known family run company near Downham who are a leading supplier of fresh produce to the catering trade across East Anglia.
We are seeking a commercially focused and hands-on Accountant/Finance Analyst to support financial operations and provide insightful analysis to help steer business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Processing weekly and monthly payroll in-house for all employees
2. Ensuring compliance with HMRC and pension auto-enrolment requirements
3. Recording and processing employee timesheets, absences and holiday pay
4. Inputting and reconciling purchase and sales invoices (this would only be needed as holiday cover)
5. Bank reconciliations and petty cash management (this would only be needed as holiday cover)
6. Supporting with VAT returns and ad hoc bookkeeping tasks
7. Liaising with staff and management on payroll and expense queries
8. Maintaining accurate records in Sage or equivalent accounting system
9. Producing weekly KPIs
10. Preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and variance analysis
11. Budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with departmental managers
12. Weekly and monthly cashflow forecasting and monitoring
13. Overseeing accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
14. Stock control accounting and cost of sales analysis
15. Supporting year-end accounts and liaison with external auditors
16. Providing analysis to support strategic decision-making by senior leadership
17. Process improvement and support on systems development (e.g. Sage or equivalent)
Person Specification:
1. Part-qualified or qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or qualified by experience
2. Experience working in an SME or commercial environment
3. Strong Excel and reporting skills
4. Proactive mindset and confident communicator with non-finance colleagues
5. Ability to work on-site and contribute to a team-focused culture
