Process Technician
We are currently recruiting for the position of Process Technicians within Operations; this is a challenging role but offers great career development opportunities for the successful candidates.
Job Purpose
The role of the Process Technician at the Montrose site is to support the manufacture of intermediate and active pharmaceutical ingredients (API).
Work will involve working shifts as part of a team or on own operating Processing plant in specific areas ensuring that the highest safety and quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
In this role you will:
* Work with handling and movement of liquids, solids (including effluent, aqueous and solvent waste) and gasses in a multistage batch processing environment following appropriate documentation, procedures and training. Check local stores to ensure there is adequate supply of consumables for the process, requests an appropriate person to order new materials when required.
* Highlight problems with plant, equipment or process and where appropriate resolves the problem. Work within guidelines to minimise waste including Time and Materials, and to minimise risk to the environment associated with spillages and emissions to the atmosphere.
* Maintain a high standard of work and will actively look for better ways of working in all aspects of the process/stage being worked including Documentation, GMP issues, Safety issues. Work flexibly, able (when suitably trained) to cover other parts of the process, and other activities within the team when required.
* Responsible for self, to carry out duties responsibly, in a safe and professional manner following appropriate documentation and procedures. Responsible for self and co-workers under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
* Work within established site standards and procedures eg plant modifications, PTW etc. Is able to work with minimum supervision, supporting the team-based approach.
* Demonstrate initiative, suggests improvements, and contributes to the decision-making process through discussion with other Team members and with the guidance of the Team Leader. Basic scheduling of own workload, prioritising and organising on a daily basis own process and activities.
* Support plant turnarounds and plant maintenance this might include Spanner skills, Permit to Work, visual inspection / plant swabbing and the use of the appropriate tools etc. No tasks will be undertaken until suitably trained.
