Lecturer in Organisational Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London
Are you passionate about transforming scientific practice and making replication studies a core part of research? We’re hiring a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at Birkbeck, University of London for a 14-month, full-time position!
As part of the UKRI-funded project "Making Replications Count", you'll play a key role in identifying barriers to replication uptake and developing tools to embed replication studies into the research ecosystem.
What You’ll Work On:
1. Conducting bibliometric analyses to assess how replications influence original research
2. Leading a survey and supporting qualitative interviews on researchers’ engagement with replication
3. Publishing high-impact journal articles, including Registered Reports
Who Should Apply?
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who are excited about open research and eager to develop new skills. You may be a great fit if you have:
* Experience with quantitative research methods (e.g., bibliometrics, regression analysis) – or a strong willingness to learn
* Familiarity with open-source tool development (Python or R a plus) – or an interest in picking up coding skills for research
* Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, thriving in interdisciplinary and international collaborations
* A passion for rigorous, open, and transparent research
We generally expect a PhD in a relevant field (psychology, management, metascience, information science, ...), though we are willing to consider equivalent professional experience.
Salary:
£43,636 to £49,683 per annum (Grade 7 on the College’s London Pay Scale, including London Weighting Allowance)
Contract:
Fixed-term, 14 months, full-time (35 hours per week)
Flexibility:
Remote work available, except for in-person meetings and travel for the project, particularly to our research partner, Münster Center for Open Science (MüCOS) in Germany
