We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic team in Birmingham University Hospital.
The Band 7 Occupational Therapist rotates through specialty pathways on a 9-monthly basis and works under the supervision of an allocated Team Lead for the Clinical Area.
Inpatient Rotations include:
* Emergency Department
* Acute Medical Unit
* Care of the Elderly
* Trauma Orthopaedics & Surgery
* Critical Care & Neuro Outliers
* Stroke Rehab
* Community Rotations
Main Duties for the Band 7 Occupational Therapist include:
* To undertake all aspects of clinical duties and carry a significant caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner, including those with complex presentations.
* To work at an advanced level and be professionally and legally accountable for a specialized patient caseload, deciding priorities for own work area while balancing other patient-related and professional demands.
* To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work, and the work of staff under supervision, including the management of clinical risk and governance in line with National and Trust clinical guidelines and protocols.
* To assess patients' capacity, gain valid informed consent to treatment, and work within a legal framework in the management of patients lacking capacity.
* To undertake comprehensive assessments and accurate diagnoses of patients, including those with complex presentations, using investigative, palpatory, analytical, and clinical reasoning skills.
* To undertake physical treatment techniques utilizing highly developed manual skills.
* To formulate individualized clinical management programmes, utilizing a wide range of treatment skills and options to plan a specialized programme of care.
* To use recognized outcome measures to evaluate the effect of Occupational Therapy interventions and ensure that treatment programmes are progressing appropriately.
To Be Successful:
* Previous experience working as a Band 6 or 7 Occupational Therapist.
* Record of all immunizations.
* NHS experience.
* Manual handling experience.
* HCPC Registration.
* Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Occupational Therapist Qualification.
