About the Role
We are looking to recruit a teacher or Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) who has experience of supporting teaching and learning for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The SEND Quality & Inclusion Consultant will provide advice and support to raise achievement and improve access to learning opportunities for children and young people with SEND within the Borough of Trafford. You will share your expertise in supporting children and young people’s social, emotional and mental health needs and provide advice and training to education staff, families and the local authority. You will promote inclusion and quality assure provision available to meet children and young people’s SEND needs.
The SEND Quality & Inclusion Consultant will bring a sound knowledge of SEND and a professional approach to the role and work effectively as part of the team. You will be working alongside team members who are from an education background who have in-depth knowledge and expertise of SEND and hold specialist SEND related qualifications.
Annual leave is 26 days (which includes 2 extra statutory days) on commencement of employment and 31 days (which includes 2 extra statutory days) after 5 years’ continuous service. The dates for the statutory days may be fixed in advance by the Council at its discretion. All colleagues, regardless of length of service, also have entitlement to bank holidays. There are normally 8 bank holidays a year, however in some years this can vary if Easter falls early, or if an extra bank holiday is given to mark a national event. The standard leave year is 1 April to 31 March.
About you
You will be an experienced, committed and highly motivated teacher and/or SENDCo with a working knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across all phases of education. A post graduate level qualification in SEND will be preferred. You will have expertise in supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs and will promote their wellbeing.

You will value and respect others’ contributions and will work together to deliver the SEN Advisory Service.
