Structural Project Engineer / Norwich / Full-Time Permanent / Salary: Competitive, Based on Experience Position 1 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Structural Project Engineer with a strong background in structural engineering and offshore projects to lead and manage the successful delivery of complex projects. Key Responsibilities: • Structural Design and Engineering: Provide structural engineering expertise for offshore platforms, oil rigs, and associated infrastructure, ensuring designs meet safety standards and can withstand marine environments. • Offshore Supervision: Travel offshore as needed to supervise project execution and progress, ensuring structures are built according to specifications and safety regulations. • Project Oversight: Oversee projects from handover to completion, ensuring they remain on schedule and within budget. Act as the focal point for project delivery, addressing technical, commercial, and design-related issues. • Procurement and Materials Management: Procure necessary materials for structural elements, raise material enquiries, and create purchase requisitions as required, ensuring that structural components are delivered on time and meet quality standards. • Load and Stress Testing: Conduct structural assessments of offshore facilities, perform load and stress testing to ensure all structures meet the required safety and performance standards under dynamic marine conditions. • Risk Management: Identify and address commercial, contractual, and design risks, escalating issues to senior management as needed, and developing mitigation plans for structural challenges encountered offshore. • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, suppliers, and internal departments, providing updates on structural progress, delays, and any technical challenges faced during the offshore construction phase. • Project Documentation: Maintain and update project documentation, including cost control records, structural reports, and technical specifications, ensuring all activities are recorded for future reference. A successful Structural Project Engineer should have a strong background in a similar Project Engineer role, with a focus on offshore structural engineering projects. A City & Guilds/NVQ in a relevant engineering field or an HND/HNC in Engineering is required. Additionally, experience working in an offshore environment and a solid understanding of offshore safety standards and procedures is essential. This is a full-time, permanent position, Monday to Thursday - 08.30 to 17.30hrs. Friday 08.30 to 15.00hrs. This role is primarily office-based, with some travel required depending on the project.
