DEEP Institute is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead and manage Health, Safety and Environmental compliance across our pioneering projects and operations. The role will be based at our Chepstow Campus and reporting directly to the Managing Director and you will play a key role in implementing ISO 45001, ensuring regulatory compliance, and foster a positive safety culture within a highly innovative environment. HS&E Compliance & Governance: You will lead the implementation of ISO 45001, ensuring alignment with ISO 9001, while overseeing daily occupational health and safety (OHS) requirements at DEEP Campus. You will also be required to keep up to date with regulations such as Diving at work, CDM 2015, RIDDOR and COSHH, conducting site audits and compliance checks to maintain best practice across all operations. Risk Management & Incident Investigation: You will take charge of incident investigations, conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures to mitigate risks. By identifying hazards, conducting risk assessments, and monitoring HS&E performance metrics, you will ensure continuous improvement in safety across all activities. Training & Safety Culture Development: You will deliver HS&E training sessions, toolbox talks, and competency assessments, ensuring teams are well equipped to uphold safety standards. Through proactive engagement, you will foster and drive a safety-conscious culture, embedding health and wellbeing initiatives into daily operations. Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting: Building strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies, you will play a key role in driving safety compliance. You will also chair HS&E meetings, ensure proper documentation of safety procedures, and maintain accurate audit and training records. Environmental & Sustainability Leadership: You will support DEEP Institute’s net-zero carbon transmission by identifying and managing environmental risks while ensuring compliance with sustainability initiatives. Additionally, you will help maintain ISO 45001 certification and contribute to the organisation’s wider environmental responsibility strategy.
