## Transport Coordinator - Southampton, Hampshire, United Kingdom An opportunity has arisen for a Transport Coordinator to join the transport team in the Southampton office reporting to the Transport Team Leader.
* *Job Purpose**
* Execute and optimise the inland operating network (Road, Rail, Ports and Depots) in order to supply high quality daily operational inland services to customers.
* Effective communication and collaboration with team members, colleagues in other departments and countries and all our UK Vendors to monitor and maintain accurate information to ensure an efficient service in line with process requirements.

* *Major Responsibilities**
* Plan & Execute UK inland work orders with the most cost effective and environmentally friendly transport modesvendors for the movement of full and empty containers, in line with all team processes and procedures.
* Efficient rail planning to maximise contract rail utilisation from to the most cost-effective rail locations.
* Ability to problem solve ensuring a high level of service is always maintained within the Service Recovery process.
* Planning and routing of Dedicated Trucks to ensure targeted cost savings and performance level is achieved.
* Ensure that all transports (full and empty) are completed in line with team customer requirements andor SLAs agreed.
* Ensure maximum utilisation of empty equipment by means of optimising inland triangulation, equipment exchange through inlands depots, and reducing empty mileage where possible.
* Working in partnership with colleagues from other departments and countries to ensure accurate information is input on OPUS system in an efficient and timely manner.
* Developing strong relationships with vendors both internally and externally.
* Proactively pre-empting issues that could result in cost to the business, by reviewing working practices and challenging processes.

* Providing accurate detailed information, working to tight deadlines, exceeding customer expectations by working closely, liaising and supporting your colleagues to provide a centre of excellence for the UK Transport Team.
* Ensuring all process and reporting requirements within the team are adhered to, with strong attention to detail and accurate updating of our Transport systems.
* Monitor vendor performance and take measures where necessary. Provide feedback to the Team LeaderManager.
* Fully scrutinising communications received within the Service Recovery process and challenging vendors where necessary.
* Day to day problem solving, assist in identifying root cause and advise necessary corrective actions to the Team Leader
* Ensure that any ancillary charges reported by vendors (waiting time, idle trips, trailer hire etc.) are timely and handled & communicated in line with to our team’s process requirements.
* Contribute to maintain and establishment of KPIs for our Carrier Haulage
* Minimize stay days in the depots terminals, and ensure loaded containers connect with planned vessel.

* This role requires excellent knowledge of ONE systems, including OPUS, PARIS, G-Suite, Microsoft Office
* Making sure that all processes and transactions are fully compliant with Company rules and regulations, including all security requirements.
* Ensuring all inland movements are conducted in accordance with UK legal regulations, including ADR, IMDG and RID when applicable

* Ability to communicate at all levels and with an eclectic mix of cultures to ensure dignity and respect are maintained. Maintaining strong relationships with other colleagues and vendors.
* *Skills, Qualifications and Expertise**
* 2 years previous operational Road Rail planning experience within the UK, including direct routing of trucks and drivers.
* Knowledge of the container shipping industry, in particular a strong understanding of the UK inland container market including full awareness of all UK Ports and Depots and how they operate.
* Full understanding of the Rules and Regulations that apply to Inland Transport within the UK
* Flexible working ethos and ability to work in a pressurised environment.
* Previous experience with the PARIS planning system desirable
