An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Gait and Motion Analysis Service at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust as a Band 6 Specialist PT.

The post involves working with Band 7 physiotherapists and a team of Clinical Scientists. There are also very close links with the wider MDT including Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeons and Orthotists. The Gait Lab caseload is predominantly Paediatrics with Neurological and Orthopaedic conditions but we also see a small cohort of adult patients.
Main duties of the job
The Specialist Physiotherapist will be responsible for gait analysis assessments including videoing, clinical examination, and 3D acquisition.
You will co-author gait analysis reports with advanced physiotherapists and clinical scientists and contribute to MDT discussions and recommendations.

Qualifications & Training
Essential
* HCPC registration
* Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy
* Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent, relevant postgraduate courses and in-service training
* Portfolio evidence of reflective practice
Desirable
* Membership of the CSP
* Membership of CMAS
* Membership of APCP / ACPIN
Experience
Essential
* Variety of significant and relevant experience within neurosciences / orthopaedic or neurodevelopmental services
* Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Experience of working with children either professionally or socially
Desirable
* Significant paediatric caseload experience in an acute or community setting including those with neurological conditions
* Student / assistant supervision
* Involvement in audit, research or service evaluation
Knowledge
Essential
* Working knowledge and experience treating patients with neurological/oncology/orthopaedic and neurodevelopmental conditions
* Understanding of the legal responsibilities of the profession
* Knowledge of clinical governance and its implications for services
* Understanding of family/team dynamics and how to develop working relationships with all involved in the child's care
* Understanding of the impact of disability/hospitalisation on children and their families
* Understanding of data protection, confidentiality and health and safety requirements in meeting the needs of the child and family
