PLACEMENT STUDENT – Business Development Associate

We are looking for an enthusiastic Business Development Associate Placement Student to join our team specializing in Sales for our Distribution Business segment in UK, Wellingborough. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential! This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 30th June 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
1. Develop opportunities to increase sales by identifying, researching, and contacting prospective customers.
2. Develop and execute account plans for top prospects and conduct agreed upon face-to-face sales calls.
3. Build positive customer relationships that enable identification of a customer’s needs, business model, and buying process.
4. Gain agreement on the differential advantage of Cummins solutions by helping the customer understand and evaluate existing data and information and the value proposition.
5. Conduct negotiations according to company guidelines, including payment terms. Assist with collection of accounts receivables when needed.
6. Consistently use the Cummins Sales Process as well as Cummins tools, processes, and initiatives that support sales, customer satisfaction, and customer value, e.g., Customer Relationship Management and special projects. Produce sales forecasts as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
1. 12-month placement as part of university degree relating to Business or Engineering.
2. Basic work experience required, but good communication skills and knowledge of MS Office required.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Able to take on challenging tasks.
