Job Description:
At Leonardo, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Assurance Engineer within our Radar Quality Assurance Team in Edinburgh. This role involves working with Operations, Project Managers, Customers, Design/Development teams, and Purchasing/Suppliers to meet Customer requirements relating to the Products and Services provided by Leonardo UK.
Key Responsibility Areas
1. Be an integral member of both the Quality team and the Integrated Project Teams (IPT) and contribute to all aspects of Quality ensuring the success and completion of all allocated projects.
2. Delivery of all assurance activities defined by the IPT ensuring they are maintained as relevant in line with the changing project demands.
3. Be fully aware and engaged with the Operational and IPT risks and opportunities and support, and take leadership where appropriate driving progress.
4. Agree risk-based internal assessments with the IPT lead and deliver these to completion including managing any findings to closure.
5. Analyse and communicate information to support the escalation and clear communication of IPT requirements to ensure correct decision-making.
6. Take leadership, on behalf of the IPT, on all instances of Non Conformance and Failure and ensure situations are managed collectively to a dependable closure with the IPT Peer Group.
7. Support and mentor more junior members of the Assurance Team.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
1. Ideally a Bachelor's Degree [or equivalent] in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly complex industry.
2. Demonstrate Governance knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 and Continuous improvement.
3. Demonstrate knowledge of Development and Design Assurance support to these stages of the lifecycle.
4. Demonstrate knowledge in applying Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification, Validation and First Article Inspection.
5. Logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with practical solutions that supports business goals.
6. Good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.
7. Effective time management, including prioritisation and escalation.
8. Experience in working with Customers and Suppliers.
