We are looking for an experienced mental health clinician to join our Mental Health Directorate as a Clinical Practice Educator.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop senior clinical, teaching and leadership skills with a team committed to the wellbeing and development of all staff.
40% of your time you will be based clinically in the Older Adult North CMHT for where you will carry a small but complex caseload of people with mental health needs. The other 60% of your time will be based with the Learning and Development Team but working primarily within the Oxfordshire Adult and Older Community Mental Health Teams where you will have a focus on suicide prevention, specifically risk assessment, formulation and safety planning, with the aim of enhancing and embedding high quality and collaborative patient care.
The Older Adult North CMHT has Multidisciplinary Team bases in the historic market towns of Banbury and Witney. You'll provide assessment and person centred, recovery oriented, evidence based treatment interventions to older adults across North & West Oxfordshire. The post holder must be willing and able to travel to multiple places of work across the Trust, though clinical work will be centred around the North and West of Oxfordshire.
Main duties of the job
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
1. Work as a clinical lead within the older Adult CMHT, carrying a small caseload of complex patients, acting as Key Worker and delivering evidence interventions in alignment with the postholder's professional specialty
2. Supervise, lead and support clinicians and undergraduate students, in their day-to-day work and professional development, promoting the concept of interdisciplinary team working and person-centred care.
3. Actively participate in clinical team meetings as appropriate.
4. Support the implementation of new clinical initiatives.
5. Supervise the clinical practice experiences of clinical staff and undergraduate students as required
