Teaching Assistant (ALN Support) - Welsh Medium Primary School
Location: Pontypridd
Salary: £12.90 an hour
Contract: Full-time, starting ASAP

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team at a vibrant and inclusive Welsh-medium primary school. You will work closely with children who have complex ALN needs, providing essential support to help them develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with complex ALN needs, ensuring their learning needs are met.
* Assist in the development of social skills and emotional well-being through structured activities and positive reinforcement.
* Work alongside teachers to implement Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and adapt learning materials to suit each child’s needs.
* Support children with communication, literacy, and numeracy in both Welsh and English, as required.
* Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that encourages children to reach their full potential.
* Monitor and report on pupils' progress to teachers and parents, ensuring open and effective communication.
* Assist with personal care where needed, always maintaining the dignity and well-being of the child.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Be fluent in Welsh, both spoken and written (essential).
* Have experience working with children who have complex ALN needs, particularly in a primary school setting.
* Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting children's individual needs.
* Be skilled in behaviour management and fostering positive social interactions.
* Work well as part of a team, collaborating effectively with teachers, other assistants, and outside agencies.
* Be passionate about supporting children’s development in a Welsh-medium educational setting.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience working in an ALN or special educational needs environment (essential).
* First aid training and experience with additional learning strategies (desirable).
