Job Description
To work proactively with internal and external customers to deliver technical product and service support through fault finding, DMX and controls commissioning, technical assistance, and supporting the installation of exterior and interior lighting solutions.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. Providing technical support and troubleshooting/Fault Finding for products and controls systems
2. Assist with the installation and commissioning of lighting controls systems and beyond lighting sensors such as night lighting trials and DMX programming
3. Coordinating with internal and external customers to ensure project briefs are defined and delivered to customer expectations
4. Managing the services booking calendar to ensure the demand across the business is satisfied and maintained
5. Attend initial site surveys with customers and sales teams to assess the project needs and deliverables
6. Providing Toolbox talks to customers on controls systems and programming tools as well as supporting solar and other product installations
7. Act as the client point of contact for technical and reliability queries within and without the framework of the SLA.
8. Provide information to the office to allow estimates to be submitted for works outside of client budgets or SLA
9. Ensuring all installation works are up to Schréder specified installation on project issues
10. Designing and understanding wiring schematics for control boxes and products
11. Designing connected systems for Controls Management Systems using CAD
12. ELEXON UMSUG testing support
13. Working and supporting the local development team on complex signature projects
14. Reviewing and maintaining the existing controls products to ensure they are suitable for our needs, working with procurement at sourcing new solutions when applicable
15. Feeding back customer and on-site feedback on products and solutions and submitting engineering change requests
16. Attend on-site for unplanned works; these visits may need to be at short notice to meet the customer’s needs.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Qualifications
1. Degree or HNC/HND in an electrical engineering or related field
2. Strong understanding of electrical systems, lighting technology, and controls systems
3. Proven experience in a technical or field technician role, preferably in the exterior lighting market but not essential
4. CAD experience – AUTOCAD would be preferable
5. Hold a current ECS or CSCS card or has previously held one
6. HERS accredited with G39 competency preferable – if not held, training will be provided
7. Experience with DMX and DALI programming tools and systems
8. IPAF license preferred but not essential
9. Full clean driving license essential
