Your newpany: We are looking to recruit passionate and motivated Support Workers to provide person-centred support to our service users. We support a wide range of people, including those experiencing or at risk of homelessness, young people, care leavers, those suffering from substance misuse, ex-service personnel and people suffering with their mental health. We believe that everyone in society should have a chance to succeed, with a safe and secure place to live and a good education.
Your new role:You will be Working closely with the residents to manage their needs. You will help service users to identify goals and provide the support they need to reach them. This will involve liaising with other agencies such as landlords and homeless prevention teams to help the people you support keep their place within the property. In addition, you will be supporting the service users to organise their finances and promote their independence. You will bepleting activities to promote and build self-esteem. Typical shifts will be 8am-6pm, 6pm-10pm and 10pm-8am.
What you'll need to succeed:You will need at least 6 months experience in a social care role within the last 2 years, desirable experience in the mental health field, dealing with drug and alcohol abuse, helping people with housing and their benefits. It is important that you can use a caring approach to build trust and strong relationships. It is also essential that you have strong time-management skills to stay on top of your caseload and work collaboratively with others.
