About the Head of Property, Facilities, Health and Safety Role As our newest Head of, you will be crucial in ensuring our compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies for the company, including for our people working remotely / in the office and our managed service operations. You will be responsible for the effective delivery of facilities services to maintain a first-class working environment as well as working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to maintain a collaborative, team orientated approach across the company to develop and embed a cultural driven EHS environment. You will be responsible for managing our property portfolio and working with the legal team and other specialist teams on property matters, covering Health, Safety and Facility responsibilities across the entire business. Key Responsibilities: In this autonomous role, you will be responsible for: Ensure Forge’s compliance with statutory EHS obligations across Health and Safety, facilities and welfare, covering risk assessments, training, reporting and record keeping Coaching and influencing teams to build understanding and embed best practices in HSE standards, procedures and processes company-wide Ensuring that all staff are fully inducted, maintaining accurate and up to date training records Developing and implementing a robust inspection programme, ensuring compliance with HSE procedures including safe systems of work, fire safety and COSHH Investigating and reporting all near-misses, hazards, accidents, and incidents (including RIDDOR) and driving continuous improvements through root cause analysis Preparing reports and presenting at board level as well as to the senior leadership team with updates on compliance, actions and monitoring Monitoring and making improvements to our environmental impact and sustainability Working with the Procurement team to source suitable contractors to complete servicing, reactive repairs Delivering high-standard Facilities Management (FM) services, identifying and driving continuous improvements across FM operations Manage and optimise office space and evolve ways of working to meet team needs Lead the management of all hard services including M&E plant and supported by maintenance engineers and external contractors where relevant Lead and develop the H&S and Facilities team Lead on managing our property portfolio, maintaining up to date storage systems and communicating effectively on property matters Managing lease negotiations, reviews, and compliance to align with business needs Acting as the main point of contact with landlords and property agents, building positive relationships Monitoring lease terms and critical dates, such as renewals, rent reviews, and break clauses Collaborating with Legal and Finance to ensure all lease and property obligations are understood, budgeted and met Maintaining accurate, accessible property documentation including leases, licenses, and landlord correspondence. Essential Experience The ideal Head of Property, Facilities, Health and Safety will possess the following qualifications and experience: Proven senior leadership experience with a strong track record of promoting and enhancing a positive HSE culture across multi-site office environments, including non-office operational spaces such as holiday letting properties NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) and ideally a degree in Health & Safety or BIFM qualification; IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management is desirable Extensive experience in senior facilities management roles within comparable, complex environments Experience managing lease agreements and working collaboratively with landlords and property agents Demonstrable knowledge of the full spectrum of facilities management functions, including contract management, tendering and continuity planning An understanding of building maintenance and statutory obligations Strong knowledge across relevant legislation, compliance and regulations and leases Ability to design and implement pragmatic policies, procedures and risk assessments. Excellent communication and stakeholder managements skills, with the ability to influence effectively across different levels within the organisation Leadership skills with proven experience of leading, supporting and mentoring teams.
