Somerfield Te Kura Wairepo is looking for a positive and motivated teacher to take our new entrant class. Full-time, fixed-term starting 28th April 2025. We are a kura committed to fostering strong teaching and learning relationships with our tamariki, whānau, community, and colleagues, ensuring the best possible outcomes for all students.

About the role:
We are looking for a kaiako/teacher who:
1. is organised, motivated and committed to quality teaching and learning.
2. demonstrates strong culturally responsive practice in all aspects of their teaching and learning.
3. is relationship-focused in their pedagogical practice and willing to adopt Teaching to the North East principles.
4. is familiar with structured literacy and mathematics is an advantage, but not necessary, as training in these areas is ongoing.
5. is eager to participate in the wider life of the school and contribute to our vibrant community.
6. brings their own interests and skills to enrich the learning experience for our students.
7. has personal values and attitudes that align with our kura.
