Are you a passionate Biology Teacher looking to make a difference? Flourish Education is working with an Alternative Provision based near Halesowen that is seeking a full-time Biology Teacher to join them as soon as possible on a long-term ongoing basis.
Our client is an Alternative Provision catering to pupils aged 11-16 who require support away from mainstream education due to behavioural and SEMH challenges. They offer a small, supportive setting- Usually class sizes of around 8-10 pupils, where SLT are heavily involved and provide strong leadership and assistance.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with challenging behaviour and have the ability to build strong relationships with the students. QTS is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities of the Biology Teacher:
Deliver engaging Biology lessons up to GCSE, following the Edexcel syllabus.
Full planning, marking, and assessment responsibilities.
Monitor and report pupil progress against targets/action plans.
Build rapport with students and encourage a positive attitude towards learning.
Effectively manage challenging behaviour within the classroom.
Establish strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
Attend CPD training and staff/SLT meetings relevant to the role.
Required Skills and Experience for the Biology Teacher Role:
Experience in teaching Biology up to GCSE level.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred but not essential.
Ability to manage a classroom with strong communication skills.
Experience working with students with challenging behaviour/SEMH is desirable.
